Writing has always been a powerful tool in our work in conservation. From the words of Thoreau to the firebrand of Edward Abby, words have power. Today for too much of the conservation community, words are carefully chosen and sometimes come off as contrived. Speaking about issues such as wolves in the wild or Climate Change can often come off as rehearsed and scientific.
At Bold Visions Conservation we believe in the power of words and the use of emotion and straight talk to convey our message of protection for species and the danger of this President and a Republican majority. We believe that you can break through the tired professionalism of the modern day conservation world by connecting with honesty and frankness.
Our writing is designed to show passion, to cause you to think and better understand the process. We also do not shy away from being critical of the conservation community, something we love and respect, but believe is not above a critical analysis, nor are we. We want to speak frankly about Game Commissions or public lands grazing, wolves and predators, the politics of protection and how we can do things better. We want to explore issues like population and the beauty of standing in the heart of wildness. We want our writing to transform you from your desk or couch and into the heart of a wild river or the calm of flat lake. We pledge to use heart, in our effort to share the importance of wild nature to our members and to the world. There is more than enough logic in conservation and it’s time for more determination, more anger and willingness to fight those that would steal our children’s inheritance. Wilderness is the soul of our nation.
We want to think in a Bold new way about conservation and broadening the people that are involved in the conversation. We want to hear your voice and your concerns.
We are not dried and stale, we are fresh and provocative!
Come and Join us and be part of the solution, be part a Bold new way at looking at conservation.
