President-elect Trump has made it official, selecting Fossil-Fuel lover, Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to run the Environmental Protection Agency.
Pruitt has long been a vocal critic of EPA regulations and a strong defender of the fossil-fuel industry. Pruitt even sent a letter penned by Devon Energy, one of Oklahoma's largest oil and gas producers to the EPA critical of estimates on emissions from natural gas drilling sites.
The connection between Pruitt and the oil industry has been described as unprecedented and dangerous. It seems according to the NY Times to be part of a pattern of of Republican Attorneys Generals across the country.
Trump's goal is to replicate what has occurred in now earthquake prone Oklahoma, where regulations on the oil industry have been stripped away and protections for communities and citizens abolished.
